Correcting Black Levels with the AVID Meridien Uncompressed Codec
While remastering the DVD of "His Last Request" I once again came across a technical problem to do with the way the AVID codec treats black levels. For the sake of the other folks who have come across the same problem, I've written up the solution as a short technical article. Click the link below to read it.

26th Pordenone Silent Film Festival
We're delighted and honoured to announce that "His Last Request" will be shown at the 26th Pordenone Silent Film Festival in Italy next month. Pordenone is the most important and prestigious silent film festival in the world and our film will rub shoulders with the likes of Griffith, René Clair and Pabst. The screenings will feature live piano accompaniment!

Seduction in Slovenia
His Last Request has been selected for showing at the Ljubljana Gay & Lesbian Film Festival in Slovenia, a venerable festival that's been going for 22 years. The screening will be on Monday 4th December at 6.10pm in Kinodvor in Ljubljana. Now you know what Poslednja želja means.

"HellinFilm" sounds like my kind of festival, even though it actually refers to a real place called Hellin! `They'll be showing His Last Request on the 4th November at 9:30pm in the CCM, c/ El Sol, Hellin, Albacete.
